Established in July 2014 at Wake Forest School of Medicine as a research source for NIH-, foundation-, and industry-funded as well as early stage investigators at Wake Forest School of Medicine to study preclinical rodent models of human disease.

The Vevo LAZR Photoacoustic imaging system, offers high frequency ultrasound modalities of the extensively validated technology of the Vevo 2100 and expands with a sophisticated laser and fiberoptic component enabling the inherent and real-time co-registration of photoacoustic and anatomical images in both 2D and 3D planes. 

This advanced imaging platform empowers investigators to obtain non-invasive and longitudinal anatomical, functional, physiological, and molecular data in relevant preclinical rodent models.
