The Molecular and Cellular Biology Core facilitates the use of state-of-the-art cellular and molecular biology technologies for investigators in Cardiovascular Sciences Center as well as national and international scientists on a fee for service basis.

Services Provided

The Molecular Biology unit provides reagents and expertise for a variety of technologies, including, but not limited to:

  • Real time-polymerase chain reaction
  • Reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction
  • Gene array hybridization
  • Yeast and bacterial two-hybrid analysis
  • Northern, Southern and Western blot hybridization
  • Development of antisense oligonucleotides and siRNAs
  • Generation of recombinant adenoviral constructs
  • Subcloning
  • Riboprobe development
  • Promoter analysis
