Students in the Pediatric Rotation will be able to evaluate children (infant to 18 years), write admission orders, develop an assessment including differential diagnoses and associated plan, and make daily decisions regarding a wide variety of conditions necessitating an inpatient stay and outpatient visit.
- They will learn to present patients in a comprehensive yet succinct manner.
- They will search the literature for evidence-based practice.
- The student will have the opportunity to work with an attending-led resident team caring for a wide variety of general medical pediatric patients and consult with pediatric sub-specialists.
- They will have responsibility for their patients including procedures, notes, communicating with parents and consultants.
Additional educational opportunities include weekly Tuesday afternoon conferences and weekly Grand Rounds.
