About Me

I am a clinical associate professor of orthodontics in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Wake Forest University School of Medicine and a member of the North Carolina Center for Cleft and Craniofacial Care.

My research interests include caries risk reduction, cone beam CT and intra-oral scanning, orthodontic treatment and team care for cleft and craniofacial patients, temporary anchorage devices for orthodontics, dentofacial orthopedics and improving access to care.

I have lectured nationally at multiple professional meetings and contributed to several publications, including the Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, the Journal of Dental Research and the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. I am the owner and president of UDA Dental and sit on the Society of American Indian Dentists membership committee.

As an orthodontist, I practice full scope orthodontics using braces and Invisalign to treat all patients with orthodontic needs. I also focus on treating patients with cleft lip, cleft palate and craniofacial conditions.

I perform pre-orthodontic guidance, prepare patients for alveolar bone grafting, set up for orthognathic surgery, perform growth modification and deliver full-scope orthodontics, including the use of braces, appliances and dentofacial orthopedics.

I received my bachelor’s degree at Brigham Young University, graduating summa cum laude and as departmental valedictorian. I received my Doctor of Dental Surgery with honors and a master’s degree in orthodontics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC). I was actively involved in cleft and craniofacial care at UNC during residency.
