About Me
I am the section head and medical director of pediatric neurology at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist and an assistant professor at Wake Forest University School of Medicine.
I am a physician-scientist specializing in pediatric movement disorders with clinical research focusing on Tourette syndrome. I am the founder and director of the Comprehensive Tic and Tourette Specialty Clinic at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. I focus on developing accessible behavioral interventions for Tourette syndrome to improve care for all. Specifically, I am studying these 3 aspects of Tourette syndrome: self-stigma, well-being and psychological distress.
Additionally, my collaborative research efforts investigating many aspects of Tourette syndrome include my roles in the Tourette Association of America and the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society Tic and Tourette Study Group.
I also work regionally as the co-medical director at a summer camp for youth, Camp Twitch and Shout.
I received my degree in osteopathic medicine at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. I completed my residency in child neurology at the University of Rochester.
