The HPEI Educator Conference is intended for faculty, staff, students, residents, fellows, physicians, and providers who are interested in teaching and training in the health professions. This includes medical, physician assistant, nursing, graduate, and other student or trainee instruction. The conference features best-practice updates, evidence-based teaching, opportunities for networking with educators, and thoughtful discussions about how we train current and future generations of medical and biomedical professionals. This is a great opportunity for faculty, staff, and students passionate about teaching to connect with other educators. The conference includes original research and breakout sessions for teachers and clinicians from all areas of medical and biomedical education from all programs, all campuses, and all areas.

Courtney Brantley, MD Dr. Brantley is a pediatric hospitalist and medical educator at Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte. Dr. Brantley was previously a clerkship director for the pediatric rotation and now serves as course co-director for the Transition to Residency Course as well as an Associate Program Director for the pediatric residency program in Charlotte. Dr. Brantley's interest in medical education include innovative teaching techniques. |

Christopher T. Kelly, MD Dr. Chris Kelly is a general internist who practices both inpatient and outpatient medicine. He is an Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program, the Director of Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) for the Department of Medicine and leader of the POCUS Curriculum, the Clerkship Director for the 3rd year medical student Ambulatory Internal Medicine Clerkship, and a Clinical Skills Instructor for 1st and 2nd year medical students. Dr. Kelly is particularly interested in medical education for POCUS across the education continuum of UME, GME, and CME. |

- Verity Schaye Bio
Verity Schaye, MD, MHPE is an associate professor of medicine at NYU Grossman School of Medicine where she practices as a hospitalist at Bellevue Hospital. In the medical school, she serves as the Assistant Dean of Education in the Clinical Sciences overseeing the clinical curriculum and assessment program. She completed her MD in 2008 and her internal medicine residency training at New York University Grossman School of Medicine in 2011. In 2016, she received a MHPE from Maastricht University. She also serves as the Assistant Director for Curricular Innovation in the Institute for Innovations in Medical Education at NYU focusing on integration of technology and artificial intelligence in the teaching and assessment of clinical reasoning. She is currently grant funded by the NBME Stemmler fund focusing on AI assessment of clinical reasoning documentation and a key member of the Society to Improve Diagnosis in Medicine as a prior fellow in Diagnostic Excellence, Chair of the 2023 meeting and section editor for its journal Diagnosis.
