About Me

Dr. Tucker is a clinical associate professor of orthodontics in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Wake Forest University School of Medicine and a member of the North Carolina Center for Cleft and Craniofacial Care.
As a a dentist and orthodontist, Dr. Tucker focuses on treating patients with cleft lip, cleft palate and craniofacial conditions.

His research interests include caries risk reduction, cone beam CT and intra-oral scanning, orthodontic treatment and team care for cleft and craniofacial patients, temporary anchorage devices for orthodontics, dentofacial orthopedics and improving access to care.

Dr. Tucker has multiple publications in the Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, the Journal of Dental Research and the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He has lectured nationally at multiple professional meetings. He is the owner and president of UDA Dental and a member of the American Dental Partners National Professional Dental Advisory Council.
Dr. Tucker performs pre-orthodontic guidance, prepares patients for alveolar bone grafting, sets up for orthognathic surgery, performs growth modification and delivers full-scope orthodontics, including the use of braces, appliances and dentofacial orthopedics.

He received his bachelor’s degree at Brigham Young University, graduating summa cum laude and as departmental valedictorian. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery with honors and a master’s degree in orthodontics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was actively involved in cleft and craniofacial care at UNC during residency.
