About Me

Dr. Nick Trasolini is an assistant professor of orthopaedic surgery at Wake Forest University School of Medicine and the associate program director for the Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship. He is a team physician for Wake Forest University Athletics, with a focus on football and basketball. He is also an adjunct team physician for Winston-Salem State University.

He is board certified in orthopaedic surgery. He focuses on surgical and non-surgical sports medicine, adolescent sports medicine and arthroscopic surgeries of the shoulders and knees.

Dr. Trasolini has advanced training in tendon repairs, ligament reconstructions, shoulder and knee instability, cartilage restoration surgeries and meniscus tear treatment. He has additional expertise in shoulder replacements and the management of shoulder fractures. He also provides image-guided injections and promotes non-operative management of injuries when possible.

His research interests include anatomy, arthroscopy, biomechanics, knee and shoulder joints, sports injuries, optimizing surgical techniques and outcomes in musculoskeletal care. He has remained active in research throughout his career and has co-authored over 60 peer-reviewed publications. He serves on the editorial board for the Arthroscopy Journal and teaches fellowship courses through the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) and the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA).

Dr. Trasolini served as an assistant team physician with DePaul University and the Chicago Bulls, White Sox and Steel sports teams.

He received his engineering degree at the University of Pennsylvania and medical degree at Stony Brook University. He completed residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Southern California and a fellowship in orthopaedic sports medicine at Rush University.
