About Me
I am a professor in and chair of the Department of Biostatistics and Data Science in the Division of Public Health Sciences at Wake Forest School of Medicine (WFSM). After receiving my PhD in Statistics at the University of Chicago, I spent six years in the Division of Biostatistics at the Indiana University School of Medicine and joined the WFSM faculty in 2001.
My current work is primarily in coordinating centers. Most of this work has been in cardiovascular disease, exercise, aging, and inflammation. I have been the PI or Co-I on several large federally funded studies, including ACCORD, SPRINT, COMPASS, LIFE, ENRGISE, and several ancillary studies. My methodological work includes work in longitudinal data, study design, quality control, and genetic epidemiology.
Since 2012, I have also had the honor to serve as the chair of the Department of Biostatistics and Data Science. We have a large number of talented colleagues in statistics, engineering, applied mathematics, programming, project management, and administration. Our department has a mix of projects led by our faculty and collaborations with people throughout WFSM and beyond.
