Wake Forest University School of Medicine offers six Comprehensive Pain and Spine Medicine Fellowship opportunities every year where fellows perform procedures in a variety of clinical settings. They are also encouraged to participate in ongoing research opportunities and get exposure to regular conferences and didactics.

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is a multi-hospital academic health system. The fellows rotate at our outpatient Pain and Spine Centers in Winston-Salem, Clemmons, High Point, Greensboro and Lexington. These facilities all have in office fluoroscopy suites for basic and advanced pain and spine interventional therapies. In addition, we implant spinal cord stimulators, peripheral nerve stimulators, interspinous spacers, intrathecal pumps and perform kyphoplasties, sacroplasties and RF tumor ablation in the operating rooms in our ASCs and other Outpatient OR facilities
Program Goals
- Foster a thorough understanding of the breadth and depth of the specialty of Pain and Spine Medicine
- Provide compassionate, appropriate, and effective analgesic care for patients suffering from acute or chronic pain
- Prepare fellows to function as well-qualified, independent specialists in pain and spine medicine.
