Mentoring is a core value at Wake Forest School of Medicine. It helps maximize professional potential, enhance career satisfaction, improve retention and cultivate personal development for faculty. It also serves to enhance the career and experiences of the mentors. All School of Medicine faculty are invited to participate, whether as a mentor or a mentee.

Several departments offer robust mentoring and faculty development opportunities within the department. Others offer informal mentoring within the department, and a few departments rely on their faculty to participate in institutional mentoring programming. We encourage all faculty to meet with their departmental leader to discuss their mentoring needs and to create mentoring connections around the institution based on your individual needs and department requirements. Remember to consider both content-specific and career mentors.
