About Me

I grew up in the quiet town of Tupelo, Miss., the birthplace of Elvis Presley. After graduating from Tupelo High School, I attended classes at a local community college before moving to Jackson, where I attended Mississippi College. I was involved in student government, social clubs, studied abroad in Spain and Portugal and then graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and chemistry. I attended the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, first earning a Master of Science degree in biology. While at UMMC, I regularly participated in a local running club and led worship for my church. I love traveling, with my most recent adventure taking me through Italy prior to starting residency. On afternoons off, I enjoy spending time with my wife, doing most anything outdoors, cooking or trying out local Winston breweries. We love going to the beach when we can and are the happy parents to our two greyhounds, Aspen and Echo. My favorite part of being at Wake Forest University School of Medicine School of Medicine School of Medicine School of Medicine School of Medicine School of Medicine is definitely the resident community.
