My research involves multimodal neuroimaging and cognitive analyses in aging and AD, as part of the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC). An overarching research question will ask if we can better disentangle normal aging from preclinical disease—with a focus on contributions of vascular and metabolic risk—using imaging, cognitive, physical function, and other biomarker data. Imaging methods include structural and functional MRI, as well as neuropathology (amyloid, tau) and metabolic (FDG, AcAc) PET. We investigate lifestyle and clinical therapeutic interventions, and their impacts on brain and cognitive health. In this position I work as a mentor to trainees (students and postdoctoral fellows) in neuroscience, physiology/ pharmacology, and other disciplines to carry out these objectives.
