Medical Student Takes Kids on Educational Culinary Adventure

Josh Pathman

Joshua “Chef Josh” Pathman, a medical student at Wake Forest School of Medicine, taught kids how to cook and eat mindfully during culinary camp at the Brenner FIT Kitchen. The camp’s theme was “Cooking Around the World in Five Days.” Each day, campers enjoyed a hands-on cooking experience where they learned about, prepared and tasted food from a different region of the world. Chef Josh helped campers improve their skills and confidence in the kitchen while teaching them how to prepare balanced meals and build nutritional awareness. The camp was a joint venture of Brenner Children’s Hospital—the pediatric arm of Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center—the William G. White Jr. Family YMCA and Northwest AHEC.
