With childhood and family roots tracing back to Chicago, Mary grew up in Allentown, PA. She spent her undergraduate years in New York City and received her BA in neuroscience and behavior from Barnard College at Columbia University. She then migrated for medical school to Blacksburg, VA, at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine where she grew to love the beauty and stillness of the mountains. Mary has a special interest in women's health and believes that a holistic approach to medicine—integrating the physical, mental, emotional, cultural and spiritual well-being of each individual—is essential in the care of a one's health. The genuine and kind people within the family medicine department drew Mary to Wake Forest, and she has found life-giving and meaningful relationships in this place she now calls home. Outside of work, Mary loves being with her family and friends, listening to a good sermon while exploring new walking trails in Winston, and figure skating/teaching others how to ice skate.
