About Me

My name is Eliza Barnwell, and I was born and raised in the coastal city of Charleston, SC. After graduating from college at the University of Virginia, I lived in France for one year and taught English at a French high school. I returned to my hometown to attend medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina, where I also obtained a Master of Science in Clinical Research. I couldn't ask to be in a better place for my ophthalmology training than Wake Forest Baptist Health, and I am excited to embark on my final year of residency. In my free time, I enjoy oil painting, eating cheese, and traveling to new destinations.
