About Me

I am a medical oncologist with clinical and research expertise in thoracic malignancies and brain metastases and am a principal investigator of several phase 1-3 human clinical trials and biomarkers studies. I have served as primary or co-PI of more than 25 national clinical trials, including both Alliance and SWOG cooperative groups studies. As the hematology and oncology fellowship site director, I oversee clinical rotations of the hematology and oncology fellows at the VA.

I also direct the Oncology Clinical Trials Unit at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center and serve as the assistant director for the Office of Cancer Health Equity, where I focus on cancer patient recruitment on to clinical trials at both Wake Forest Baptist Comprehensive Cancer Center and the VAMC.

My research interest is in thoracic oncology, brain metastasis, and cancer disparities which has led to several publications and grants. My translation research interests use metabolomics, genomics and proteomics to develop biomarkers for clinical use.
