  • Make Travel Arrangements
    • The nearest airport is the Piedmont Triad International Airport (GSO - approximately a 30 minute car ride to WFU). Taxi service is available through the Triad Transportation. Public transportation is provided by the Piedmont Authority for Regional Transportation (PART). Their shuttle bus runs from the airport to the PART Regional Hub where you may make a connection to get to the Winston-Salem terminal. Once at the bus station in Winston-Salem, you will need a taxi to take you to WFU and your lodgings. Please note that while this is the most economic option, buses may not be immediately available on your arrival. You can check the schedule on the PART website here: PART Route 1 Schedule.

Background Check and Health Information Summary

Prior to orientation, accepted students must complete a background screenings and collect the required health forms and vaccinations. The Graduate School has contracted with CastleBranch to conduct the required tests and screenings. Click below for instructions on logging in and reaching their Service Desk. NOTE: the package code for login is “wk97.” Click “Place Order” or “Package Selection” quick link to access the Graduate School’s login page.

Current employees and continuing students of the medical center are waived from the background check, health record submission, and drug screening since these items were performed as a requirement of employment and during your initial enrollment in the Graduate School. If there is a deficiency, it is recommended that any outstanding immunization/vaccinations requirements be obtained at an outpatient clinic in order to use your personal/student health insurance. If you request a vaccination from the Employee Health clinic, you may not use your personal health insurance and will be charged.
