Curriculum Overview

Within the program’s coursework, students will find detailed discussion and analysis of participant health systems integrated with those from outside the U.S. in order to provide a range of learning experiences that add up to a powerful, leadership change experience. Through faculty lectures and case studies, students will explore how other professionals have overcome challenges, often through failures, and students will learn about the nuances from lessons learned, in healthcare organizations and leaders’ interpersonal interactions.

Learners will have privileged access to the latest research on leadership and emerging best practices that are helping today’s most successful healthcare organizations outperform their competition. Students will be encouraged to identify a mentor and/or professional coach to help identify leadership challenges, and provide guidance in the process of developing a personal/professional action plan throughout the curriculum.

Interaction with experienced, engaging healthcare executives sharing practical solutions discovered from having “been there” and “walked the walk” helps students craft a realistic agenda for organizational change and a personal approach to leadership. Longitudinal and small group work incorporates guided, self-assessment exercises that help further design a leadership approach to maximize a student’s strengths.
